Previously, he held an Assistant professor (replacement) position in the Economics Department at the University of Ottawa and a Post-doctoral fellow position at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE). He completed his Ph.D. and M.A. in economics at Université Laval in Québec, Canada and holds two bachelors in economics and political sciences from Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj, Romania.
If during his master he was still convinced that he would pursue a career in banking, the Ph.D. helped him to discover a new passion for teaching and a profound interest in microeconomics (incentive theory). The TSE episode only strengthened his intent to apply incentive theory to phenomena like corruption. Currently, he is also working on other asymmetric information related topics like the credence public goods, or the partial verifiability induced contests.
