A program for a global, responsible, and transformative career at one of the world’s most prestigious universities.

The Geneva EMBA

You will study at and earn a uniquely valuable degree from the University of Geneva, which ranks in the top 17 in Europe and top 60 globally (Shanghai Ranking). The Geneva EMBA is part of the exclusive 2% of MBA programs worldwide accredited by the AMBA (Association of MBAs). It is the only program in Switzerland with this dual international recognition.

The distinctiveness of our studies is strong, differentiating, and will carry the two main strengths that will be yours once you graduate: your leadership and your network.

  • Excellence in responsible leadership and self-leadership: You will develop the now essential competence to face the complexity of the environment and constant change through two central themes: responsible leadership and self-leadership. Responsible leadership is your ability to face the challenges posed to your organization, not only economic, but also ethical, social, environmental, technological, and in terms of governance. Self-leadership is your ability to identify your vision and your added value to make decisions and contribute to your company in a way that makes sense for you. These themes are supported by a faculty at the forefront of research from the University of Geneva—one of the top 50 in the world—or other prestigious institutions.
  • The Geneva Advantage: You will immerse yourself in a unique ecosystem with international diversity, economic sectors, and players (private companies, NGOs, international organizations, and public companies). The Geneva EMBA opens you to this dynamism, both to broaden your understanding of the economy and to open up different career paths. You will find this diversity in your class and alumni network, as well as through a third of our courses that are conducted in collaboration with a company, or through the many encounters we create with our 30 partners from all sectors. This connection is supported by our partner, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIG). Sponsor of our next 2024 cohort, the CCIG will be a source of many exchanges and opportunities.

How does the Geneva EMBA work?

From the Academic Director

Prof. Judith Schrempf-Stirling

An excellent manager does not only know the fundamentals in business administration but cares, inspires, and leads responsibly and with integrity. Our Geneva EMBA is a program for a global, responsible, and transformative career. It provides executives with a first-class management education without interrupting their careers. The program is designed to balance theory and practical application, and combines classroom learning with interactive personal development. Our experienced faculty is aware of the need for today’s business leaders to develop and implement efficient operational solutions, while simultaneously ensuring the strategic renewal of their organizations. Since 2006, the Geneva EMBA has been accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education. With its continuous AMBA re-accreditation, the Geneva EMBA confirms itself in the top 2% of Business Schools globally.

The program strives to develop successful and responsible leaders through a real-world learning experience. Throughout our program, our participants develop their interpersonal skills, the so-called soft skills. Amongst others, our participants learn and apply how to manage with emotional intelligence and train group resilience, acquire cross-cultural management and leadership skills, and practice how to successfully work in teams and foster team engagement. Through the EMBA Capstone Project, our participants develop a strong sense of collaboration with their EMBA colleagues. The Geneva EMBA experience represents an important catalyst for our participants to move up the ladder and/or to change career paths. It is challenging work – but it is also a once in a lifetime learning experience.
