GENEVA SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT
Geneva, a cosmopolitan city conducive to negotiations and new conceptions, is the prime meeting place at the highest political and economic level. Geneva houses 174 different states, 33 international organizations and is the headquarter of a myriad of multinational corporations and banks.
Located at the heart of the city, the University of Geneva (UNIGE), founded in 1559, is highly regarded by all reliable University Rankings Tables, and enjoys an international reputation, demonstrated in particular by its cross-border mix of students and teachers.
UNIGE, the fourth largest university in Switzerland, offers 613 programs, including 344 continuing education programs covering a wide variety of fields, such as exact sciences, medicine, humanities, social sciences, economics law, and much more. Over 100 of its programs are taught on a bilingual or fully English platform. UNIGE experienced faculty is keenly aware of the need for today’s managers and business leaders. Renowned for the excellence of its faculty and student body, UNIGE is home to several Nobel Prize winners.
Numerous amenities, such as libraries and cutting-edge computer and multimedia facilities, are available to students. Executive MBA (EMBA) students have access to these facilities with their student ID card, issued upon admission in the EMBA program.
Our Executive MBA provides executives with a first-class general management education without interrupting their careers. The program is designed to balance theory and practical application, and combines classroom learning with interactive personal development. Our experienced faculty is keenly aware of the need for today’s managers and business leaders to develop and implement efficient operational solutions, while simultaneously ensuring the strategic renewal of their organizations. The program goes beyond the basics of business and prepares participants for senior management challenges and responsibilities.
Our EMBA participants are hand-picked professionals from diverse industry backgrounds – including the public and private sectors – with an average of 8-11 years of working experience. Our EMBA is accredited by the Association of MBAs, and the admission process is highly selective. Applicants undergo a rigorous review process, including a formal interview with a member of our alumni program, prior to being accepted.
The program strives to develop successful and responsible leaders through a real-world learning experience. The professors use materials that come directly from business and help the participants reflect upon learnings in the context of their organizations. Through the in-company EMBA project, the participants develop a strong sense of collaboration with their fellow students. The EMBA experience represents an important catalyst for our participants to move up the ladder or to change career paths. It is challenging work – but it is also a once in a lifetime learning experience.
